Bokehenstein Photography – Calgary Photographer using Leica 35mm full frame digital & film photography with Leica rangefinder cameras, large format & medium format analog photography. Things I find to photograph in and around Calgary.
Spent the afternoon walking the town of High River Alberta with some black and white film. High River is 45 min south of Calgary and was hit hardest by the flooding. The smell of raw sewage, streets of condemned houses and commercial buildings, terrible. They are still digging out almost a month later. It was 15 feet deep in places I hear, unreal.
Spray painted on the side of his condemned house that is about to be bulldozed reads, ” We are still cleaning up please don’t touch our supplies and furniture”..
Fridges and all kinds of other appliances still line the streets.
Playground, this pic shows how deep it was in this spot. The top of the slide is about 7 feet high and is full of debris including a tree stump. The chain link fence in the background to the right is clogged with debris. There is a large 20′ sea container in background right that is now sitting on a concrete garbage bin and in the background a house with all the windows open trying to dry out.
